We are currently learning about hazards and how to stay safe. A key idea we have come to as a class is that we need to be prepared for potential hazards by knowing what to do.
We analysed 2 songs about crossing the road, one by the wiggles and one by the funky monkeys. We completed a PMI chart to find the Positive aspects, Minus aspects, and things we'd improve.
We then used this information and created our own crossing the road songs based on the following criteria:
- It has to include 3-4 messages about how to cross the road safely.
- The tune should be based off a nursery rhyme or other basic tune.
- Where possible the song should rhyme.
To make things interesting we're running another poll to see who you think wrote the best song using the criteria.
So please click on the Road Safety Song Page at the top of the blog, check them all out and vote using our poll on the side bar under the calendar.

Well done Room 1. Your Safety Songs are fantastic. I'm having a REALLY hard time deciding for the poll!
ReplyDeleteHi Room 1.. thanks for commenting on our blog. We have timetabled some blogging time tomorrow and I am sure the children in Room 3 would love to listen to the songs and then vote on your Road Safety Poll. I know they will enjoy it as we have just finished learning about Road Safety - this will be a great way to finished off the topic.
ReplyDeleteTalk to you tomorrow.

Hi Room 1
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed listening to your songs. What a great job you did to make up Road Safety songs. They are good for learning about how to cross the road. We liked how your voices were clear in the recordings. Some of the songs were funny. Room 3 enjoyed singing along to Group 1's song the most. Here are our top three votes ...
Group 1 had the most votes, then Group 2's, then group 3's.
We will watch the poll and see which one everyone likes the most.
